Hawai‘i CARES 988

Hawai‘i CARES 988 is a 24/7, free support service for help with crisis, mental health, and substance use by the State of Hawai‘i Department of Health.

OBJECTIVE: Raise awareness about the local crisis hotline and welcome inclusivity for LGBQTIAS2+ youth reported for high suicide rates in the state according to 2023 data.

RESULTS: We launched their social media and website with bright branding that was culturally aligned and inclusive for Hawai‘iʻs population. To spread awareness about 988ʻs behavioral health services we directed local influencer videos, collaborated posts with trusted organizations, condensed data from reports, conducted sentiment surveys, and created sharable content.
